Horticulture Students Host Hanging Basket Workshop For Local Residents
20 June 2012
Salford City College Horticulture students invited local residents to participate in a hanging basket workshop, held at their Eccles Sixth From Centre-based Follybrook Garden shop.
Residents from the Retail Trust Moores House, enjoyed tea and homemade cakes before beginning the workshop which gave them tips on which flowers to use within hanging baskets and planting. They then got stuck in to creating their own designs.
Ian Bocock, Tutor, said “It was great to be joined by the local residents for our hanging basket workshop. The baskets they produced were wonderful and everyone, including the students, had a great afternoon. Hopefully they will be able to take some of the tips we shared away with them to use in their own gardens.”
The hanging baskets will be nurtured for a few weeks by the Horticulture students and then gifted to local residents in the Eccles area.
