College Bids A Fond Farewell To De La Salle
13 June 2012
Salford City College have bid a fond farewell to their De La Salle Centre by hosting an end of year party.
Students, tutors and members of the public were invited to attend the end of year fun day, hosted at the centre, to celebrate De La Salle’s illustrious history as part of Salford City College. Event highlights included a bucking bronco; inflatable sumo wrestling, refreshments and an all day Quornathon which saw catering staff and students give out over 300 Quorn frankfurters to event attendees.
Leon Dowd, Director at Salford City College, said; “It’s sad to see De La Salle close, but the students and staff alike will take happy memories of the centre with them I’m sure. It’s a situation with mixed emotions as, although it is a sad occasion, the students are also looking forward to studying in their new facilities from September.”
Salford City College’s De La Salle Centre was predominantly recognised for housing the college’s extensive Catering facilities and on site training restaurant La Sallian as well as Hair & Beauty studies, among other subjects.
Top of the range new facilities at the college's Walkden Sixth Form Centre and City Campus Skills Centre will be unveiled ready for the new academic year in September 2012.
