Cleaning and Support Services Level 2
This qualification is designed for those working in Cleaning and Support Services. This Level 2 qualification covers the skills required to ensure the candidates' own actions reduce risks to health and safety, communicate effectively with customers and others and work as a team and individually.
Ductwork Level 2 NVQThis course offers maximum flexibility to meet the needs of semi-skilled and skilled workers engaged in ductwork installation.
You will study five units including maintaining effective working relationships, installing heating and ventilating systems and components and maintaining a safe working environment for HVACR activities.
Ductwork NVQ Level 3Electrotechnical Technology NVQ Level 2 For those working in the Electrical trade or wishing to convert/retrain. Individuals can complete their technical studies at College, but MUST obtain work in the Electrical field to fully qualify. Candidates completing Level 3 MUST seek employment in the Electrical field in order to fully qualify. Successful candidates will need to complete NVQ Level3 'on-site portfolio' in order to obtain Qualified Electrician JIB card. You will have to demonstrate competent performance in the workplace although you may attend college to “top-up” or practice elements of your trade. Assessment is mainly by practical demonstration of skills in the workplace. You will need to keep a portfolio of evidence as you work towards your qualification.
Electrotechnical Technology NVQ Level 3 For those working in the Electrical trade or wishing to convert/retrain. Gas NVQ Level 2If you are working in the gas industry and want to gain a qualification this course would be ideal for you. It involves installing and maintaining central heating, fires, cookers and water heaters.
Subjects covered on the course include health and safety, installation of gas appliances, hot and cold plumbing supplies and basic fault finding techniques.
Heating & Ventilation NVQ Level 2 Who is this qualification for? This Workbased NVQ is available for those who are engaged in the Heating & Ventilating sector and wish to have their competencies assessed for certification purposes. The Level 2 NVQ has been designed to cover people who are • engaged in the sector and wish to have their competencies assessed for certification purposes • new employees who have undergone some training and are now acquiring industrial experience and wish to demonstrate their competencies for assessment purposes • Other people in the sector who require a fundamental understanding of industry practices. The Level 3 has been designed to cover people who are • senior operatives employed as team leaders and first line managers who are responsible for carrying out industry based activities • people who through training and development are extending their competences to take on additional responsibilities in both technical and managerial areas • new employees who have undergone training and development and are now acquiring a more in depth knowledge and experience of the industry sectors. Maintenance Operations NVQ Level 2NVQ Level 2 Maintenance Operations is a multiskills programme. It is designed to help you gain basic practical skills and knowledge of Carpentry & Joinery, Bricklaying, Plumbing, Painting & Decorating, Plastering and Glazing projects.
NVQ Level 3 PlumbingPlumbing NVQ Level 2 The NVQ Level 2 is a work based qualification. This means that you will need to be employed as a plumber in order to achieve the NVQ Level 2. You may be self employed or working for a plumbing company. You will have to demonstrate competent performance in the workplace although you may attend college to “top-up” or practice elements of your trade. Assessment is mainly by practical demonstration of skills in the workplace. You will need to keep a portfolio of evidence as you work towards your qualification.
Road Passenger Vehicles Level 2This qualification gives recognition for the diverse range of skills and knowledge that are required in order to carry out the transportation of passengers effectively and safely.
Units include health and safety in the work environment, safe and efficient driving practices, customer service, dealing effectively with difficult passengers, dealing with emergencies during a journey, transporting children and young persons, and providing a service for passengers who require assistance
Site Management NVQ Level 4This course is suitable for established construction site managers in order to gain a recognised qualification to prove competence. The course involves the assessment of practical competence and job knowledge that are required for work as a manager in the construction industry.
Candidates must complete a number of mandatory core units such as monitoring project activities, evaluating and selecting work methods and allocating work and checking people’s performance.

This course is designed for those wishing to gain a qualification in the Trowel Trades including brickwork, plastering and wall & floor tiling. You will have to demonstrate competent performance in the workplace although you may attend college to “top-up” or practice elements of your trade. Assessment is mainly by practical demonstration of skills in the workplace. You will need to keep a portfolio of evidence as you work towards your qualification.
