Catering and Cookery
Catering NVQ Level 2
The college offers practical courses which provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to develop a career in the catering industry. Students learn from experienced tutors in the college's award winning training kitchen, restaurant, dining and banqueting facilities.
This course takes place at the De La Salle Centre.
Catering NVQ Level 3 Students learn from experienced tutors in the college's award winning training restaurant and kitchen and banqueting facilities.
The Level 3 supervisory course in catering has two pathways of study, One pathway is Supervisory leadership and includes 12 units covering modules in:
Bar Management
Function and Special Event Management
Customer Care and Managing People
The second pathway is advanced professional cookery, This qualification is broken down into sixteen units covering modules in:
Complex Buffet Work
Seafood
Complex Meat and Game
Competition Work
Health and Safety in the Workplace
Either pathway is designed to take you into a supervisory role either in the kitchen or front of house.
This course is based at the De La Salle Centre.
